Olympic sailing champion Sarah Gosling, from west London, has given birth to a boy, her husband has announced.
Gosling, 33, one of the famed Three Blondes in a Boat, gave birth to Leo Archie Gosling at 11.52am on Friday. Baby Leo weighed in at 7lbs 2oz.
Her husband Adam Gosling said: “Both Sarah and Leo are now at home and are on cracking form.”
It is the first child for the couple, from Barnes, west London, who married in February 2009.
Under her maiden name of Webb she won gold at the 2004 and 2008 Olympics in the Yngling sailing discipline.
In Athens in 2004, Sarah competed alongside Shirley Robertson and Sarah Ayton, before repeating the feat with Ayton and Pippa Wilson in Beijing four years later.
As the Yngling class has been removed from the Olympic programme for 2012, Ayton has already announced her intention to team up with Saskia Clark and go for gold in the 470 class.
Gosling is keeping her options open for now about whether she will return to the water and in which class.
